Anime Checker

Anime Checker verifies the integrity of your anime video files by matching the file content CRC32 checksumsto the file name CRC32. This works for those fan-made anime movies where the author has inserted the CRC32 into the file names.

No installation is required, so you can just launch the executable file. Packed in a clean and intuitive interface, Anime Checker lets you add as many videos as you want to the task list, provided that they have the AVI, FLV, MKV, MOV, MP4, OGM, RM or RMVB file extension.

Since batch processing is supported and you can verify the integrity of multiple files at the same time, it's also possible to indicate directories whose supported files you want to add to the task, as well as paste files from the Clipboard. Moreover, Anime Checker features a small dropzone that stays on top of all windows, which gives you the possibility to seamlessly drag and drop files into the application while exploring disk directories.

The files are checked as soon as they're added to the list and you can find out the full path, CRC signature and whether or not the hashes match. A small icon can be seen next to each item, indicating the status: green for match, red for no match, and yellow for errors. You can pause and resume ongoing verifications, as well as copy the CRC32 or all information for one or more selected files.

When it comes to program preferences, the utility can be asked to sort the file names in the list, show a grid, change the buffer size, and display only files with CRC. It's also possible to create a list with filename inclusions or exclusions to take into account for the CRC checkup, set a folder to automatically check at app launch, as well as disable recursive directory mode.

The tool verified data swiftly in our tests and showed accurate information. Unsurprisingly, it used low CPU and RAM. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't hang or crash.

Although it doesn't integrate rich options and configuration settings, Anime Checker offers a simple solution to checking CRC32 values for movie files, as long as they exist in the file names too.
