Aura is a great tool that helps you keep an eye on all your Gmail accounts without needing a full email client. It's super handy!
With Aura, you can connect as many Gmail accounts as you want. You'll get notifications for any new messages, and you can easily switch to the web app in your default browser to read the whole message or do other tasks.
When you first open Aura, it asks for the credentials of at least one Gmail account. You'll need to allow the app to control that account. If you go into Preferences, you can add more accounts whenever you'd like!
Just a heads-up: when adding new accounts, the Google login panel takes care of everything. Make sure you tell it that you're adding another account in both places!
You also need to be logged into all your monitored accounts in the web browser if you want everything to work smoothly.
Aura works with the macOS Notification Center too! This means you'll get alerts whenever there's a new message in any of your inboxes. Plus, there's an Aura status bar icon that shows how many unread messages you have just in case you miss those alerts.
The main idea behind Aura is to let you know about unread messages and help you access the right web app quickly. If you're writing a new email, keep in mind it will always send from your default account.
Aura makes things easier by allowing you to set up a hotkey to show or hide its panel whenever needed. You can even choose to get alerts only for important emails! And if you're using it at night, there's a dark mode that's easy on the eyes.
