How to Customize Your Settings

Now, here's the catch: you won't find a user-friendly interface for changing settings directly in the app. Instead, you'll have to tweak the settings by editing a file called ‘rules.xml’. Depending on what operating system you’re using, you can access this file by typing either %SYSTEMDRIVE%\\ProgramData or %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\\Application Data in the Run utility. Once you've located it, open up that XML document with any text editor.

Your Configurations Made Easy

The sample document has three different configurations that are pretty easy to modify. The first one tells your system to use a proxy.pac file whenever its IP address is 10.0.0.1, or if it falls under the subnetwork 10.0.0.0/8. You can change things like network names, proxy URLs, and DNS IPs without breaking a sweat!

More Network Options Available

The next two configurations will set things up so that if your computer's IP is either 10.0.0.1 or 10.0.0.2, it will use proxy.local.lan, listening on port 3128.

The Default Configuration Explained

If none of those fit what you need, there's also a ‘Default Config’ option available! Just keep in mind that using this means your proxy will be disabled.

Status Updates at Your Fingertips

You can check how everything’s running by clicking on the ‘Status’ option from the system tray! A new window pops up showing when everything was last updated and what network configurations are available.
