AutoVolume is a handy little app for your Mac that can save you from some pretty awkward situations. You know those times when your Mac wakes up from sleep and suddenly blasts your favorite song like it's announcing a concert? Yeah, we've all been there! This app makes sure that doesn’t happen by adjusting your Mac's volume automatically to a preset level you pick.

Why You Need AutoVolume

Most of us forget to lower the volume before putting our Macs to sleep. That’s where AutoVolume comes in. It’s super simple and does its job well without taking up much of your Mac's resources—only about 30 MB of RAM!

User-Friendly Interface

The interface is straightforward too! You get this slider control to set your target volume. It ranges from 0 to 1, which might be a bit tricky since it could be easier if it showed percentages like other volume sliders in macOS.

Easy Controls

You can easily enable or disable the app right from its window, plus it has an option to start up automatically when you log in. How cool is that? You can also see what the current target volume is set at!

Background Functionality

The best part? Once you close the app's window, it keeps running in the background so it’ll still manage your volume. But if you hit “Quit,” it stops monitoring completely. Just remember, if you want that sweet silence when waking up from sleep, don’t quit it!

Room for Improvement

Even though AutoVolume does what it promises, there are some features we’d love to see added. Being able to set the volume on system login automatically would be great! Also, options for having a status bar item or choosing specific audio devices would make this tool even better.
