AVSEQ is a super fun, audio-driven game that really stands out! It’s based on an awesome installation created by our talented programmer, Tom Betts, who also happens to be an artist and musician. How cool is that?
The Concept Behind AVSEQ
The whole idea behind this project was to make a challenging and abstract action game where you connect atoms to rack up points. Sounds simple, right? But there's more!
Unlocking Music While You Play
As you link those atoms together, you actually unlock something deeper within each level: a musical sequencer! Yep, that’s where the magic happens.
What’s with the Name AVSEQ?
This is where the name makes sense! AVSEQ stands for audio-visual sequencer. So while you’re enjoying the beautiful visuals and connecting atoms in the game, you're also activating a sequencer grid. This means you're creating musical loops as you play!
A Unique Experience Every Time
The best part? The music creation process is random! Each time you tackle a level, you'll end up with a different musical loop depending on the sounds you unlock at that moment. Talk about variety!
Mind-Blowing Audio Permutations
You won’t believe this: Each level of AVSEQ has around 22 tredecillion (that’s 2.2300745198530623×10^43) possible audio combinations! It means every playthrough offers something fresh and exciting.
