Backtrack is a super handy tool for recording your screen and voice. It’s pretty cool because instead of having to hit record every time you think something important might happen, Backtrack does it for you! It runs in the background, constantly recording while you go about your day.

How Does Backtrack Work?

So, here’s how it works: Backtrack records everything that comes through your chosen microphone all the time. You can also enable screen recording if you want. The default time limit for recordings is one hour, but if you'd rather have more time, you can change it to five hours.

Saving Your Recordings

After an hour of recording, it starts overwriting older content. If something noteworthy happens, just click on the menu bar icon and drag your cursor to save the part you want. You can either keep this file on your computer or upload it to the cloud for easy sharing.

Audio Limitations

Now, a quick heads up: even though Backtrack is great for things like conference calls, it only records what your microphone picks up. This means that if you're not using speakers and they aren't capturing audio too, you'll only hear one side of the conversation.

Screen Recording Features

The screen recording feature works really well! But be aware that it can't capture system audio. So if you're wearing headphones or something similar, only sounds that come through your mic will be recorded.
