Getting Started with BaconBar

When you first open BaconBar, you'll need to log in with your Reddit account. Don’t worry if you don’t have an account yet; signing up is free! Once you're logged in, you can choose whether or not to monitor your subscriptions or specific subreddits.

A Simple Way to Browse Reddit

BaconBar makes it super easy to keep up with the latest news on Reddit. All the posts show up in your status bar menu. When something catches your eye, you can either open it in your browser or jump straight into the comments section.

See More with Mouse Over

If a post title is too long, just hover over it! BaconBar will show you the whole title so you can decide if it’s worth clicking on. Plus, it shows details about where the post came from!

Customizable Keyboard Shortcuts

This app also has handy keyboard shortcuts for refreshing what’s new or loading more messages. You can tweak some settings through Preferences to make BaconBar work just how you want it.

Adjust Your Settings

You can change how many items show up in the status bar and set limits on character counts for post titles. Want to see new posts or hot ones? You can set that too! Plus, there's a way to adjust how often private messages refresh.

Control Your Browsing Experience

BaconBar automatically removes links you've visited and updates the list afterward. But if you'd rather decide when new entries load, you can turn that off.
