Nowadays this can easily be done thanks to the abundance of dedicated applications in this regard. As such, Bad Games Autorun is just one example of how menus for multimedia content can look like.

Truth be told, all throughout the creation process you'll never know how the end result looks like, or whether adjustments you made are good or not. The overall design of the application is pretty ambiguous, with little to no hints or tooltips to get you out of sticky situations.

Running it brings up a general layout which is actually how the menu looks like in the end. Moving on to the creation screen requires you to simply fill in a few fields and choose to create the INF file. A background song can be chosen, a file under the MP3, WAV or MIDI format, but no option to stop it, which can be rather frustrating for the end user.

Several fields are available that represent buttons that appear in the menu. However, there is an implemented editor which lets you position it by dragging it over the layout to the desired position. Moreover, you can link it to other menus, folders, files, as well as URLs.

Unfortunately, the layout features only one design, with no customization options whatsoever. There's no possibility to add pictures, not even for the background and neither can its color be changed. You also have to generate the final result for an overview, because there is no way to preview your work, so you'll just have to assume everything is well placed.

You're tricked into believing the application is packed with potential due to the simple design and a slight modern touch to the interface, but only to realize simplicity is only because of poor implementation of features.
