What is BalanceNG FOR LINUX?

BalanceNG

BalanceNG is a super handy software for balancing IP addresses. It’s quick, small, and easy to use on different platforms. This app is especially made for GNU/Linux and Solaris systems, so you can run it on your favorite hardware.

Awesome Features of BalanceNG

This software comes with some cool features! For starters, it supports VRRP, which stands for Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol. It also has session persistence support and various distribution methods. Plus, there’s a customizable UDP (User Datagram Protocol) health check agent that keeps everything running smoothly.

Your Load Balancing Buddy

BalanceNG includes a Layer 2 (Ethernet) load balancer, so you can manage your network traffic easily. It supports the latest IPv6 protocol, Direct Server Return (DSR) support, and even SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol). With all these options for load balancing and health checks, you’re covered!

Simplified Installation Process

If you're ready to get started with BalanceNG on your GNU/Linux system, it’s super simple! Just download the latest version from the project’s website or through Softpedia. Save the package in your Home directory and either unpack it or double-click if it's a native installer.

If your GNU/Linux version doesn’t work with DEB or RPM packages, don’t worry! Just grab the binary package that matches your computer’s architecture—whether it's 32-bit or 64-bit.

Using the Terminal Like a Pro!

You’ll need to open up your Terminal app next. Navigate to where you extracted the binary package (like typing cd /home/softpedia/BalanceNG-3.584-Linux-x86_64) and run the command ./bng. Make sure to do this as root (system administrator) to see how to start, stop, or restart BalanceNG.

A Great Fit for Your System

A little reminder: BalanceNG works on GNU/Linux and Solaris systems only. It's available as universal pre-built binary packages along with native installers for DEB and RPM-based distributions of GNU/Linux. Support is there for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures as well as SPARC!
