Description
BartMark Bitmap Encoder
BartMark Bitmap Encoder is pretty cool because it uses a key-based encoding system. This means you need a special number to encode and decode your messages. It’s like having a secret code!
Compatible Formats
What’s neat is that the encoded bitmaps can be changed back and forth between various non-lossy formats like TIFF uncompressed or PNG. This makes it easy to use with different types of files.
Watermark Info
Right now, BartMark only produces fragile watermarks. What does that mean? Well, if the file gets even a tiny change, your watermark (or message) will disappear! So, it's not the best choice for document validation unless you're working with monochrome bitmaps.
Monochrome Bitmaps
If you're using monochrome bitmaps converted from G4 TIFF, those watermarks usually stick around since they don’t get changed much in other formats. That’s something to keep in mind if you want to maintain your message!
Character Limit Advice
NOTE: Try to keep the character count low when entering your message. If you enter 5000 characters when your actual message is just 100, it's going to take forever to decode! Less is more here.
Coding Speed Matters
The algorithms for encoding and decoding used by BartMark aren’t super quick. The more text you try to encode, the slower it gets! If you go over 10,000 characters, it might be impossible on anything but the fastest processors available today. But don’t worry; there may be improvements in future updates!
