Battle For Wesnoth

Battle For Wesnoth is a really fun and strategic turn-based game. You get to recruit soldiers and train them into tough veterans who will fight alongside you against all sorts of enemies!

Your Battlegrounds

The game map has three main areas to explore. First, there's the Northlands, which are mostly wild and lawless. Then, you have the Kingdom of Wesnoth, right in the center, along with its neighbor, Elensefar. Lastly, there’s the territory of the Southwest Elves.

The Kingdom of Wesnoth

The Kingdom is surrounded by some cool features: to the north, there's the Great River; in the east and south, you'll find Lower Hills; to the west, you have the Ocean; and down southwest lies a swampy area called Green Swamp.

Your Choices in Battle

You have some exciting options! You can try to reclaim your rightful throne as a legitimate heir or use your powers to control the Undead and rule over mortals. If that doesn't sound fun enough, you could also lead your fierce Orchis tribe into battle against humans who dared to invade your land.

Create Your Units & Campaigns

Battle For Wesnoth lets you design custom units and even create your own scenarios or full campaigns! With over 200 unit types, 16 races, and 6 major factions to choose from, there’s no shortage of creativity.

Challenge Friends Worldwide

You can challenge friends or players from all around the globe in multiplayer fantasy battles. As your experienced units fight more battles, they’ll gain new abilities that help them grow stronger as you journey through this rich land.

Exploring for Resources

Exploring different lands is a smart way to find villages where you can heal your troops and boost your income. You'll need to cross rivers and mountains while navigating through forests, tundra, grasslands, or hills.

Diverse Creatures Adapted for Battle

The game is filled with numerous creatures that thrive in their environments. Orcs and dwarves feel at home in hills and caves while elves rule over forests. Meanwhile, mermen and nagas dominate rivers and oceans.
