Battle High 2 is a fight game set in the San Bruno High School for Elementally Advanced, and features student characters that have learned to harness and manifest the power of the elements: earth, water, air, fire, and energy.

Within the game universe, you get to control 13 different personas: 12 students and a very discreet faculty member. Battle High 2 allows you to play in versus mode against your friends, but also integrates multiple single-player options.

Even though the Battle High 2 game controls are not extremely intuitive, most of the times you get on screen instructions on how to navigate the menus. Right off the bat, you must choose the playing mode: arcade, versus, challenge, or training.

Once you enter the fighting grounds, pressing the Enter button activates the pause mode and allows you to navigate to the commands list. Note that each character comes with its own talents, so take the time to read the instructions before going to battle.

Learning how to efficiently use your elemental skills while in battle is imperative, and as you get better, you will be collecting various achievements. In total, there are more than 130 different achievements that can be unlocked.

Moreover, in versus mode, you can even battle against real people: one of the characters is controlled by the keyboard, while for the other you must connect a gamepad.

Battle High 2 resembles most of the other fighting games out there, yet it sports artwork that is slightly pixelated which gives it an arcade styled look, an interesting storyline, colorful characters that have different skills and powerful punches, and so on.

The drawback is the fact that the controls are not as responsive as one would expect, while the menu navigation can be very counter intuitive at times.
