The Beta Barium Borate SPDC Calculator or, in short, BBO SPDC Calculator, provides a simple software utility designed to help scientists or students determine the phase matching angles for beta barium borate (BBO). This type of crystal is one of the most widely used crystals for second—order non-linear processes.

Used in chemistry and optics, this calculator can serve as a quick means of finding the idler wavelength and the phase matching angles for both type I and type II SPDC.

The application is simple, with a one-window GUI that serves a single purpose: to help you calculate the output as quickly as possible, without a lot of hassle. You get editable fields for the input parameters, namely the pump wavelength and the signal wavelength, both measured in micrometers. Moreover, you are prompted to provide the angle between directions of the signal and the idler photons and, respectively, the direction n of the pump, in degrees.
