Best Kakuro

Best Kakuro is a cool little Windows app that helps you create and print your own Kakuro puzzles. You can pick from different difficulty levels and customize the grid size too! Plus, it’s super handy for solving puzzles right from the app.

Create Your Own Puzzles

When you open Best Kakuro, you're greeted with a simple design that's easy to navigate. The main window shows you how to play right away. If you need more info, there’s a help manual available to explore all the features of this awesome program.

Play Your Way

You can enjoy the game using either your keyboard or mouse. One of my favorite features is that you can fill in all the squares with just one click! If you make a mistake, don’t worry—you can easily undo your actions, clear everything out, or print the puzzle directly from the window. Oh, and if you want to save your puzzles for later, they can be saved in PUZ file format. This makes it super easy to import them when you're ready to edit again!

Customize Your Game

This app gives you a lot of options to tailor each game just how you like it. You can choose your difficulty level—whether you're feeling like Novice, Easy, Medium, Hard, Advanced, or Killer mode! Additionally, you get to decide if you'd rather use the keyboard or mouse during gameplay. You can even turn on or off ‘zeroes’ and use a timer that starts automatically when creating a puzzle.

Create New Puzzles Easily

If you're looking to create a brand-new Kakuro puzzle from scratch, Best Kakuro has got you covered! You can choose grid sizes like 8x10, 10x12, or 12x20. Plus, set how dark you'd like your printed puzzles to be and decide whether ‘zeroes’ should be included in solutions. You can also specify how many pages of puzzles you want!

Manual Puzzle Design Mode

A unique feature lets you define a puzzle by manually placing black squares on the grid. Just click on any square to toggle between black and white squares as needed. You also have control over how many rows and columns are in your puzzle layout!
