Better ChatGPT is a desktop client for the notorious AI model that packs several extra features that may come in handy. Before you can get started with the tool, you need to enter your account and generate an API key. This will be useful later on, as the tool enables you to  monitor tokens.

The application’s interface is not very difference from ChatGPT’s web interface. Then again, you can notice some extra features there right away. For starters, you can go back and edit or reorder the messages into the chat history. The option can come in handy if you are trying to refine the conversation or when you want to get better responses.

For example, if you notice that the response is not accurate or helpful, then you can go back and edit it with an improved prompt. Moreover, you can insert additional information or provide context, so chances are that the response will improve accordingly.

Your conversations can be organized in folders, so you can have a better management of your chat history. You can use the Search function to quickly find a what you need.

The possibility to customize the model parameters is another great feature of the tool, as you can fine-tune the behavior of the underlying model so that it suits your specific needs.

For instance, if you don’t like getting repetitive responses to your queries, then you can consider adjusting the presence penalty parameter. By toggling the temperature parameters, you can control the level of randomness in the model’s responses.

Make sure to access the parameters at the top of the conversation tab to read more and adjust them accordingly.

If you want to improve your prompts or want to get a more accurate response, but are having a hard time, then you can consider accessing the prompts' gallery via the Settings. Better ChatGPT includes a link to the gallery and they can serve as conversation starters and can help users to quickly generate responses from the model.
