This is the portable counterpart of BibleLightning, a straightforward piece of software that permits you to look up keywords in the Bible and discover the true meanings of verses. It has the King James version and features over 200,000 cross-references.

Since there is no setup pack involved, you can drop the program files in any part of the hard disk and just click the executable to launch BibleLightning. Another possibility is to keep it stored on a USB flash drive, in order to directly run it on any PC with minimum effort. Unlike most installers, it doesn't modify Windows registry settings.

The interface is represented by a large window with a simple and clear-cut structure, where the application shows a list with the books of the Bible you can look into.

As far as program settings are concerned, it's possible to switch to a different verse style, font and font size, customize the font and background colors, set a background image, hide brackets, disable keyword highlights and the automatic pasting of verses, deactivate extensive search mode to speed it up, as well as choose a parallel Bible.

There were no kind of stability issues in our tests, thanks to the fact that the software utility didn't hang, crash or prompt error messages. As we expected, it had minimal impact on computer performance, running on low CPU and RAM.

BibleLightning may not contain particularly rich options and configuration parameters, but it offers a simple solution to looking up the meanings of Bible verses in a user-friendly workspace.
