Written in Java, Big Faceless PDF Library is an approachable software program that lets you open PDF documents, edit their metadata, and secure them with digital signatures.
As long as you have Java installed on your PC, you don't need to set up anything else. This means that you can drop the app files in any location on the disk and just click the .jar file. Otherwise, you can save it to a pen drive to directly run it on any PC. It doesn't add new entries to the Windows registry.
The GUI is user-friendly, made from a familiar-looking window with a well-structured layout, where you can open PDF documents, navigate pages, zoom in and out, view document properties (e.g. date of creation and last modification, language, features), and edit metadata (author, title, subject, keywords, creator).
It's also possible to rotate pages, hide the toolbars, sign and certify the document, manage digital signatures, undo and redo your actions, cut, copy and paste text, print pages, as well as save the new file as PDF or with the TIF or TXT format.
No error dialogs popped up in our tests, and the software program didn't hang or crash. It had a good response time to user commands and minimal impact on computer performance, thanks to the fact that it required low CPU and RAM to work properly.
Although it doesn't integrate rich options, Big Faceless PDF Library delivers a simple solution to viewing and signing PDFs, and it can be seamlessly used by anyone.
