Considering that the top websites all employ Google Analytics, the question of how the company uses this information just comes natural. Granted, website owners can learn a ton of information about their website and figure out a way to continuously improve it, but not personal information. Nevertheless, nobody can really tell what type of information Google Analytics gathers about visitors.
BlockGAnalyticsDNSQueries is a tiny batch script designed to prevent Google Analytics DNS queries and telemetry. According to the developer, the role of the utility is to block Google Analytics queries with the Windows host file. Simply put, it will block all DNS responses.
Before getting started, users need to set the hosts and channels first. After opening the tool, the content of the host file - located in the Notepad inside the archive - needs to be replaced with this content https://raw.githubusercontent.com/MaXfAa/BlockGAnalyticsDNSQueries/main/paste-this-in-the-hosts-file.
It is important to note that there are other methods that prevent the tracking, including a firewall where users can add the IP ranges or domain names. Alternatively, users can use a script blocker, disable JavaScript altogether or use an opt-out extension. The latter, however, is not ideal as it doesn’t prevent Google from knowing the visited websites, but rather prevents event from being sent to Google Analytics.
