Bolt

The only way to take a ride on the information superhighway is with a web browser. Amongst other similar tools for accessing your favorite pages and emails, or playing online games, you can use Bolt.

The application, at a first look, leaves the impression of a polished product. However, spending a little time using it will get you slightly disappointed because you will find no hidden treasure beneath the user-friendly interface. You can open pages in different tabs, but if you like things to be arranged in a specific order, you have to open them accordingly, because tabs cannot be moved around.

You can keep all favorite pages in the “Bookmarks” menu, but there is no way to pin them to the taskbar. A “Home” button takes you to the default opening page, in case you wonder off too deep into the dark corners of the Internet.

Aside from the details mentioned above, Bolt has nothing more notable to offer. You cannot keep track of your activity, since a history tracking option is not implemented. Also, the default page appears every time you run the application or open a new tab, without offering the possibility to add something else.

The attempt to open a link in a different window will only bring up another browser (like Internet Explorer) to do so. If you want to do a quick search, take your time, because there is no integrated search field, thus forcing you to open an engine that can do that.

Bolt is a slow runner if web browsers were competing in a race. The user interface is simple, although it lacks the complexity needed to keep up with others of its kind. However, in case you want to try something new, you can give Bolt a try.
