What is Box SimpleShare FOR MAC?

Box SimpleShare

Box SimpleShare is your go-to desktop app for using Box, the awesome online file storage and sharing service. It's really user-friendly and lets you store up to 5 GB of data for free. Plus, sharing files with anyone is a breeze!

Easy File Sharing

With Box SimpleShare, you can easily take screenshots of your whole screen, just a window, or even a specific region. Want to record what's happening on your screen? No problem! You can capture screencasts and upload everything right to your Box account.

Drag & Drop Made Simple

Uploading files or folders is super easy too. Just drag and drop them onto the Box SimpleShare icon in your menu bar. It's as simple as that!

Automatic URL Copying

Once you upload a file, its Box URL will automatically be copied to your clipboard. If you don't want this feature, you can turn it off in the Preferences.

Your Upload History at a Glance

The menu bar item gives you quick access to view your upload history and available commands. Want to jump straight to a file? Just click on it in the history and it'll open in your default browser!

Sneak Peek Features

You can also set Box SimpleShare to automatically upload snapshots after creating them with the menu bar commands or their global hotkeys.

Screenshot Shortcuts

If you need to capture part of your screen, just hit Cmd + Shift + 4. For capturing an entire window, use Cmd + Shift + 3, and if you're making videos, go for Cmd + Shift + 5. These are built-in OS X hotkeys that you can change later in System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts.

Upload Hotkeys & Customization

You can use Cmd + Shift + U, which is set by default, to upload selected files. This shortcut is customizable from the Preferences too!

No More Auto Uploads?

If auto-uploading snapshots isn't your thing, just turn that option off in Preferences. You've got control! You can also choose whether to delete screenshots or other types of files after uploading.

Select Your Video Format

You can pick the default video format for screencasts from three options: FLV, MP4, and AVI—all found in Preferences.
