Bright

The web browser market is pretty much settled already with Chrome having the majority, followed by Safari and Firefox, and Internet Explorer and Edge only being used to download the other two.

With so many of them already available, it is hard to imagine a new one arriving and taking away all their users. And that is something that Bright is trying to accomplish.

At first glance, you would say there's no real difference between this one and all the other Chromium-based browsers. However, there is more to it than meets the eye.

You can notice a very big difference when you open the Settings menu. Compared to the basic layout you find in the other browsers, this one is more colored, more, pardon the pun, bright.

Now we get to the serious part. With most people, the first thing they do after installing a browser is adding an ad-blocking extension. Well, with Bright you need not worry about this, as it has an inbuilt ad and tracker blocker.

Also, if you do a lot of writing on e-mails or social media posts, you do not need to worry about using other programs for proofreading. This web browser already has that integrated, supporting websites such as Gmail, Facebook and more.

Still not impressed? Well, it also has its own internet speed tester, which you can find next to the Refresh button. Just click it once to bring up the menu, and then click Start Test and wait for the results.

However, the icing on the cake is Cobrowsing. Being the first program of its kind to have this, it allows you to share your screen with your friends, with no need for external software.

With its revolutionary concepts, one would expect to see a totally different web browser, but it looks almost exactly like all the others. It is good that you are used to the commands, but it does not make it feel special.

Also, when on YouTube, the ad-blocker doesn't remove the ads from the video, but instead it sometimes takes away the skip button. And on other websites, you can still see a lot of ads appearing, which does not make it very effective.

Overall, if it can be tweaked here and there, it could make for a worthy competitor.
