If you’re among the users who surf the web with multiple browsers, it can get a little awkward at times. This mostly happens because you have to name a favorite for your default choice when dealing with opening links, which can understandably be sometimes impractical to work with.

A program such as Browsel can help those whose workflows involve opening links in different browsers. Perhaps you wish to open links to certain domains only in Edge, and use Firefox for general web surfing — this is very easy to configure here, and gives you some nice breathing room.

The idea to have a designated app that lets you select which browser to open a link in isn’t anything new, but as is often the case, the implementation is what matters in the end. This program in particular takes a practical, yet modern approach, which should do well enough for those who often find themselves working with multiple browsers.

The steps to getting everything set up are very few and should be easy enough for anyone interested in this solution. Set the app as your default browser, and whenever you open a link, it’ll prompt you to select your browser of choice. This will happen every time you click a link that would normally open in your default browser.

As for the supported browser, the program should be able to automatically detect Edge, Chrome, and Firefox, but you may add up to 6 entries manually. When doing so, you have the ability to use privacy arguments, which will take effect whenever you use that particular browser: opening new links in Incognito mode thus becomes an option.

You may also designate rules for certain domains, which should let you open them in your preferred browser. To that end, it’s worth pointing out that holding Ctrl or Shift while selecting a link or domain will automatically create a rule for it. Alternatively, you may hold the Alt key to open in Incognito.

Browsel is a viable solution for those who use more than one browser regularly, as it provides one with some manner of convenience.
