So, have you ever run into a problem where your DVD player just won’t play some DivX-encoded .AVI files? It’s super frustrating, right? Well, the Change FourCC to XviD Nautilus Script is here to save the day! This handy script changes the codec used in those files so that they can be played as XviD. Simple as that!
Basically, some DVD players are picky about what codecs they can handle. They might happily play XviD files but not those DivX ones. With this script, you can switch out the codec to make your files compatible.
The first thing you need to do is copy the script into a specific folder on your system. You’ll want to place it in ~/.gnome2/nautilus-scripts
. It’s like giving your computer a little nudge to get ready for action!
Now that you’ve got it in place, it’s time to make it work! Open up your terminal and run this command:
chmod +x Change FourCC to XviD
This command basically tells your system, “Hey! Make this script executable!” Now you're all set!

No more worrying about whether or not your DVD player will cooperate with certain files. Just run this script and enjoy your movies hassle-free!
