CiDial is a tiny and portable software application that serves as a simple dial-up manager, helping users easily get online through a dial-up connection. It sports just a few standard options that can be seamlessly set up by anyone.
Since installation is not a requirement, you can save the program files anywhere on the hard disk and just click the executable to run.
There is also the possibility of saving CiDial to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any computer with minimum effort and no previous installers.
An important factor to consider is that the app does not create new registry entries or files on the HDD, leaving it clean after removal.
The interface is made from a regular window with a plain and simple structure, where you can get started by specifying dial-up settings, namely connection, user name and password.
You can enable simple status messages, ask CiDial to automatically reconnect when the signal is lost and to shrink when connected, as well as make the frame stay on top of other windows. Note that CiDial does not replace Windows' built-in dial-up manager.
The simple-to-use application does not put a strain on computer performance, as it uses a very low amount of CPU and RAM. It has a good response time and works well, without causing the OS to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. We have not come across any issues throughout our evaluation.
CiDial comes in handy to anyone looking for a simple dial-up manager with a few useful options. Unfortunately, no recent updated have been made.
