CopyDrop is a super handy backup tool that works right in your Finder. It’s made for backing up your user folders, media files, applications, or any documents you have. No fancy stuff here, just straightforward backups!
The cool part about CopyDrop is that you can drag and drop files right into the Finder to make what they call 'smart' copies. This means if you already have the same file in your backup location, it won’t copy it again. How great is that? You save time and space!
CopyDrop gives you two modes to choose from: “replace” and “merge.” In replace mode, anything that’s only in your backup folder will be deleted so that everything matches perfectly with your source folder.
If you go with merge mode, it’s a bit different! Here, unique items already in your backup stay put. So, when you're done, your destination has all the files from both places — everything that was already there plus anything new from the source.
You might wonder why CopyDrop was created. Well, it fills the gap left by the old app called “CopyAgent,” which didn’t get an OS X version after its time ran out. If you liked using that app before, you'll probably love CopyDrop!
