CraftArtist Compact

CraftArtist Compact is a professional software application specialized in creating photobooks, greeting cards and scrapbooks using custom text messages, shapes, images and several templates.

The tool adopts a clean and intuitive layout that gives you the possibility to choose between several options, namely select between different templates, define a project from scratch or open an existing one, or opt for an easy mode for generating projects, so-called Make & Do.

The Make & Do mode is developed to offer rookies step-by-step guidance throughout the entire creation process and built-in video tutorials. Each project may include multiple pages, each one with its own personalized text messages and images.

CraftArtist Compact gives you the possibility to import pictures (e.g. HDP, PNG, JPEG, PCD, PSD, PDF, TIF, BMP) from your computer and build up a list with the ones that you want to embed in the current project.

You may add a wide range of embellishments, which are grouped in different categories (e.g. Animals, Art, Cartoon, Fabric, Flower, Metal, Nature, Paper), as well as work with a rich-featured set of backgrounds, frames, materials, letters, layouts, brushes and swatches.

What’s more, you are allowed to add various types of shapes, embed custom text messages, which can be altered in terms of font, size and alignment, configure a brush in detail (e.g. adjust the smoothness, pressure, opacity, flow, color), undo or redo your actions, use a color palette, as well as apply different stencils and lines.

Last but not least, you may export the edited project to PDF, PNG, BMP or JPG file format, print the final photo, cut, copy, paste or delete objects, activate the spell checking feature, crop items, flip or rotate the image to different angles, work with multiple layers, as well as arrange, transform and align objects using dedicated tools.

Tests have shown that the utility provides excellent output results but it eats up CPU and memory so the overall performance of the computer may be hampered. The program became unresponsive several times and crashed.

CraftArtist Compact proves to be an efficient digital album creator that integrates an advanced suite of editing tools. Thanks to its professional suite of features, it is suitable especially for power users.
