Description
CurseBreaker
CurseBreaker is a handy little tool for World of Warcraft players. While Blizzard has tried to add features to the game, sometimes they just don't cut it. Whether you're looking to get ahead in PVE, boost your arena rating, or just want to organize your auction house items better, you'll find that addons are key.
What is CurseBreaker?
This open-source utility helps you check if your WoW addons are outdated, which is super useful! Some might say there are other mods out there that do this, but CurseBreaker takes up less space and uses fewer resources. Perfect for keeping your game running smoothly!
Getting Started with CurseBreaker
You can easily start using CurseBreaker by downloading it and placing it in the same folder as your game's executable file. Good news: It works with both World of Warcraft Retail and the Classic version! If you usually grab your addons from CurseForge, there’s a neat uri_integration command that lets you link right to the page.
Installation Notes
A heads up from the developer—any addons you already have won’t be recognized by CurseBreaker. This means you’ll need to reinstall them all. But don’t worry; you can automate part of this process using the import command. Plus, it creates backups in the WTF directory, so nothing gets lost!
Manual Updates Required
Please note that some scripts or addons like WeakAuras or Plater still require manual updates from their option menus. Also, any addons installed outside of the Interface\Addons directory won't work with this tool.
Limitations of CurseBreaker
An important thing to keep in mind is that not all WoWInterface addon categories are supported by CurseBreaker. Since these utilities don’t follow their API guidelines, they can't be installed through this tool.
