Perhaps one of the most irritating issues with Windows is disabling the embedded antivirus solution, Windows Defender. As the name suggests, Defender Control is a tiny tool designed to help you turn Defender off with just one click.
The application does not require installation or configuration, but rather it is designed as an executable that disables Defender in one go. Once accessed, the executable restart Command Line with privileges and hence, it disables the antivirus. Regarding the latter, the developer points out that the app gains TrustedInstaller permissions to remove the embedded Windows Protection.
In addition to the antivirus, the application also disables extra services, namely windefender services and smartscreen, anti-tamper protection, WMI settings and all relevant registry keys. Take note that the program provides you with the option of turning Defender and all the aforementioned settings back on. Consequently, if you want them back on, you should use the enable defender executable and everything will be back to normal.
Although Windows Defender is a free solution with real-time protection over accounts, operating system, network and even includes a firewall, many users simply do not like it. If you are among the users who would like to get rid of Microsoft embedded protection solution, then Defender Control can help you achieve this goal.
On the other hand, make sure to not leave your computer without any protection whatsoever. It is recommended to disable the antivirus solely if you have or are planning to install another third-party solution installed. Otherwise, you are making your PC a sitting duck against a wide variety of threats, including, but not limited to ransomware, Trojans, spyware and other threats.
