Defender Injector is a small utility designed to help you manage the exclusion from scanning for Windows Defender or other third-party antivirus solutions.
More often than not, these security apps are scanning files and folders that are critical for the optimal functionality of your operating system. Moreover, if they also delete some of these files then it can lead to serious performance issues and you may be forced to reinstall Windows.
The program does not require setup, but rather you can decompress the archive in any desired location and start using it right away. You can add the files and folders that should be exempt from the security scanning of Windows Defender or other antivirus solutions with a quick drag and drop. Alternatively, you can you can navigate to the location of the data from the command in the GUI.
It is worth mentioning that the app enables you to add the function to add exclusions to the Context menu. You can active it by accessing the Options menu and them selecting the Add to File and Folder Context menu feature. In case you are not sure what is added to the exception list or want to edit or double check it, then all you need to do is launch the app and preview the files and folders listed in the interface.
It can be argued that you can achieve the same results by accessing the Windows Defender Dashboard or the Security Center to add the exceptions manually. Without denying this is possible, the entire process is rather tedious and time consuming since you need to add the trusted files, file types, folder or process by hand.
In the eventuality that you want to take charge and prevent Windows Defender or other antivirus solution from deleting critical files on your system, then perhaps Defender Injector could come in handy.
