DeskRoll is a handy tool if you ever need to help a client with an issue or access files on your Mac from another spot. It’s super easy to use!
DeskRoll is a simple OS X app you can install on any computer you want to control remotely. It lets other people view your screen and even send mouse or keyboard inputs using any web browser. You can also use the DeskRoll Android app if you're on the go!
First off, you'll need to create an online account. This account will let you connect to any machine you want. Each time you launch the desktop app, it generates a six-digit code that you'll need to share with anyone who wants to access your Mac.
When someone requests access, it’s totally up to you whether or not to let them in. You’re in control!
You can use any desktop web browser, but for the best experience, it's suggested to use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. They tend to be faster.
Once connected, the remote user can see your screen and interact with it directly using their mouse or keyboard. If needed, either side can interrupt the connection anytime, though keep in mind that the app doesn’t let you pause the video feed.
You can chat with each other while connected, but currently, file transfers aren’t available through the DeskRoll Mac app.
The person accessing your Mac can adjust the quality of their input feed too. This might change how quickly things respond during your session.
If you're looking for a lightweight solution for remote access without all those tricky setups, DeskRoll is perfect! You can control your Mac from anywhere using just a web browser or mobile app. For more details and download options, check out this link!
