One of the advantages you gain by running Windows on your computer is that you can preview the content in folders without having to go through each directory, all thanks to Windows Explorer. However, if you are among the users who believe that the data provided by this function can be misleading, you are probably already looking for an alternative.

Desktop Explorer is a small and intuitive application that enables you to view, copy, paste, delete, move or rename files and folders on your computer seamlessly.

While it does not include flashy colors or shapes, the interface is well-arranged and intuitive. To be more precise, the UI consists of multiple panels that you can slide to minimize or enlarge, according to your needs.

You should know that while two of the panels display the overall content of the drives and folders respectively, the third one adjusts according to the type of file you want to preview.

Unfortunately, while you can move it around, you cannot take it out of the window structure. It could be nice if you could remove it from the interface's frame to inspect it more closely.

The highlight of the application is that it allows you to view any file format imaginable. This feature can be useful for when you have to open certain documents or photos, as you do not have to install other third-party software solutions just for viewing.

The program allows you copy, paste, delete, edit, sort, move and encrypt the files you access. Not only that, but you can also select a viewing style – lists, thumbnails with large or small icons, standard thumbnail – that allows you to work more faster, easier and be more productive.
