Desktop Lock

Desktop Lock is a lightweight Window application built specifically for helping you restrict other users’ access to your computer by locking your screen.

It sports a clean and simplistic layout that allows you to carry out most operations with minimum effort.

By default, the application features a preset password and in order to specify the new password you are required to enter the predefined one.

What’s more, you can run the utility at Windows startup and make the application lock your desktop.

By default, Desktop Lock shows a blank screen in order to protect your privacy and you are not allowed to run the Task Manager for closing the running process. In order to unlock to the screen you are required to specify the correct password.

Since it doesn’t require much computer knowledge to set up the dedicated parameters, even rookies can master the utility with minimum effort.

On the downside, the program doesn’t feature many advanced options, and you cannot change the background color, make the desktop background transparent, or play sound notifications, just to name a few suggestions.

During our testing we have noticed that Desktop Lock carries out a task very quickly and without errors throughout the entire process. As it would be expected from such a small utility, it manages to remain light on system resources, so it doesn’t hamper system performance, nor interfere with other programs’ functionality.

All things considered, Desktop Lock offers a simple yet efficient software solution when it comes to blocking other users’ access to your desktop. It can be easily configured and installed by all types of users, regardless of their experience level.
