Desktop Locker

Desktop Locker is a lightweight application whose sole purpose is to help you protect sensitive data from unauthorized viewing by locking your computer while you are away.

It sports a clean and simplistic layout that allows users to set up the locking process with just a few clicks.

Basically, it proves to be extremely easy to work with this tool, as you don’t need special computer skills to configure the dedicated parameters.

You can lock your desktop by setting up a password. It is not possible to make the application hide the characters of the password while you are typing them, so make your sure the password remains private.

Desktop Locker doesn’t come packed with any advanced features, and this could be good news only for rookies, as they can learn to block other users’ access with minimum effort.

However, more experienced users may find it pretty inconvenient to work with an application that doesn’t give them the possibility to lock the PC if it’s been idle for a specified time, run the tool at Windows start up, and enable or disable sound notifications.

By default, Desktop Locker applies on your screen a preset image, which reveals a beautiful landscape, but it doesn’t let you customize the desktop image by uploading photos from your computer.

To sum things up, Desktop Locker comprises limited features for helping you keep your data private. Although it leaves a minimal footprint on computer resources, it cannot compete with other powerful tools from its category, as it lacks many advanced features.
