Disk CleanUp is an application developed to remove all traces of previously deleted files and thus block recovery apps that may attempt to get back the data.

Although it should be very easy to use, Disk CleanUp comes with plenty of configuration options, all grouped in a tabbed GUI for one-click access.

The built-in help section doesn't seem to help rookies too much, but Disk CleanUp remains a very intuitive software solution most of the time.

It supports FAT16, FAT32 and NTFS file systems, so it's enough to pick the drive you wish to clean and start the main process. You can adjust the size of the disk buffer and background process priority, with the latter only recommended for those using faster computers.

With an icon that quietly sits in the System Tray, Disk CleanUp also gives you the option to automatically remove files from user-defined folders, while hotkeys enable you to quickly clean all data without even launching the app.

You shouldn't experience too many problems with Disk CleanUp, regardless of your computer experience, but make sure you pay attention to every displayed option in the aforementioned configuration screen.

The cleaning task may take a while, but this also depends on the overall size of the selected drive. As always, you're recommended to avoid working on the system during this time and let the process come to an end.

Disk CleanUp may be a handy tool, but it still lacks some essential features. What's more, a user-friendly approach and a comprehensive help manual to assist users throughout the entire cleaning process are both needed.
