Dominos Pro is a fun way to enjoy the classic Dominoes game right on your Mac! If you played this board game as a kid or still enjoy it today, you’re in for a treat. This OS X game brings all the fun of Dominoes to your computer.
Now, let’s get one thing straight: you can’t stack those domino tiles and create a huge domino effect with this game. So, if that’s what you were hoping for, sorry! But don’t let that get you down. The gameplay sticks closely to the traditional rules of Dominoes.
While playing Dominos Pro, your goal is to match the tiles from your hand with those at the ends of the chain. If you don’t have matching tiles, no worries—you just draw another tile from the “boneyard.” You score points based on whether the exposed ends of the chain add up to multiples of five (like 5, 10, 15). Pretty straightforward!
The first player to hit one of four score thresholds—100, 150, 200, or 250—wins! Plus, before each game starts, you can pick from five difficulty levels ranging from easy to hard.
You also get to choose whether your first move will be a “max double” or “random,” and there’s an option to view or hide rules through the menu. It makes starting up much easier!
Now for some not-so-great news: while Dominos Pro captures all the charm of classic Dominoes gameplay, it isn’t very kind on your Mac's resources. We noticed high memory usage during our testing—like 3.6 GB of RAM just sitting idle! It also used over 40% of our CPU power without even doing much. We tested version 1.5 and hope these issues are fixed in future updates.
To wrap it up: Dominos Pro is super entertaining for anyone who loves playing Dominoes. Just keep an eye on how much memory it uses while you're having fun!
