Dooms Knight is a Doom clone for the Mac OS X platform featuring 36 levels, as well as many different guns. Dooms Knight can be regarded as a continuation of the Doom franchise from the 1990s.
Like in the original game, you are a marine that has been transported to Phobos, one of the Moon’s satellites, as punishment for your unfit behavior. Although Phobos is considered to be a dull place, some scientific experiments go horribly wrong and you are left to deal with the monsters that inhabit the satellite.
The game features the same old-school graphics and sound effects. In addition to this, it comes with several difficulty levels. A total of 36 levels are available, as well as 9 different weapons to take down aliens: your fists, pistol, rocket launcher and more.
A major flaw in the game is that, as you start your first mission, your character moves and shoots by itself. You can barely control the camera and exiting the game is also difficult. The problem still persists in other, too, though the game is a little more playable.
The game interface looks the same as the original. You will be able to monitor your ammo, health points, arms and armor. What’s more, weapons and bonuses can be collected from the floor in random spots.
All things considered, Dooms Knight is definitely not the best Doom variant for OS X, mainly because your character can barely be controlled. Unless the developers fix this problem, you would probably want to skip this one.
