DP WIPE

When a file is removed from the recycle bin it is not permanently gone and can be brought back using specialized tools. In order to prevent this from happening, DP WIPE, a very simple application, lends you a hand when trying to delete files once and for ever, offering multiple modes to help you in this regard.

Although similar applications usually sport complex and sometimes unnecessary features, DP WIPE has been designed to be simple and to provide a quick way to delete files.

That's why the interface is quite basic and comprises just a few options, along with drag and drop support to enable you to add items to the eraser’s queue easier.

You can thus add multiple files at once and pick from a total of six different wiping methods, as follows: Zeros, Pseudorandom data, RCMP (DSX), US DoD 5220.22-M (E) 3x, US DoD 5220.22-M (ECE) 7x and Gutmann (35 pass).

Most of the tasks are completed in just a few seconds, but the Gutmann method could take even a half hour in case it has to deal with a larger file.

Another interesting feature of the app is a dedicated entry in the Windows Context Menu that offers users the possibility to quickly add a single or multiple files to the removal list on the go.

DP WIPE is one of the easiest tools to permanently remove files and since it’s so easy to use, it deserves at least a try. Although there's no help file included in the package, everything's pretty straightforward and easy to use, so beginners should have no problems when trying to use the app.
