Dripcap

Dripcap is a handy packet analyzer tool that helps you capture your network traffic or open PCAP files easily. Right now, it doesn’t let you save the captured info, but it’s still super useful!

Simple User Interface

The cool thing about Dripcap is its user interface. It all fits into one window where you can see the traffic and get loads of details about each entry. Plus, it has different themes! You can switch between Default, Mocha Dark, Ocean Light, or Atelier Estuary Light in just a few clicks through Preferences.

Customizable Settings

You can adjust how long your snapshots are and even install extra tools for package analysis. You have the choice to activate the pre-installed packages too!

Easy Capture Sessions

When you're ready to start a new capture session, Dripcap automatically finds all available input sources for you. You just pick one from a drop-down menu. It’s super easy!

Filtering Options

You can also manually input filters for your capture and run it in promiscuous mode if you want to check everything happening on your network. Plus, there's a Display Filter feature that helps you cut out any irrelevant frames. If you're unsure about the filter syntax, check this link out.

Efficient Resource Use

If you set up capturing filters right from the start, you'll save yourself some resources by filtering out unnecessary data. And guess what? Dripcap works with Berkeley Packet Filter (BPF) syntax too!

In short, Dripcap is great for capturing details about packages on your network. It offers a clean space to review and filter information efficiently. Even though it can't save data directly into files yet, it can open PCAP documents so that you can analyze info gathered by other services.
