Duodecim Scripta is a fun and tricky game! You play on a 12 x 3 board. The middle row is called the entry squares. This is where players put their pieces onto the board. Player one uses the six squares on the left side, while player two takes the six squares on the right.
Your goal is to get all six of your pieces onto the board and then move them off in an anti-clockwise direction. Players take turns rolling two dice to see how far they can go.
Let’s say you roll a 1 and a 3. You can place one piece in the first entry square and another in the third entry square. Remember, each entry square can only hold one piece at a time!
Once your piece is on the board, you can start moving it around! For example, if you roll 1 and 3 again, you might move one piece from the entry squares to the first position near the top right corner, while sending another piece to the third position.
If you land on a square that already has your pieces on it, those pieces will stack up and move together as one big pile!
You can't just move anywhere though! If an opponent has more pieces than you do in their pile on a square, you can’t move there. But if they have fewer pieces than yours, you can knock them out! This means they'll have to start over with those pieces.
To leave the board with your pieces, you'll need an exact throw from your dice rolls. So keep that in mind as you play!
