DXF Analyzer is a straightforward Windows application designed to show you file information about AutoCAD drawings with the DXF format. It comes wrapped in an intuitive graphical interface that makes it easy to load DXF files and inspect information.

Installing the tool doesn't take long, thanks to the fact that there are no special steps during setup. As far as the interface is concerned, DXF Analyzer adopts a plain-looking window split into multiple panes for analyzing file stats, blocks, line types, text styles, dimension styles, views, UCSs, and entities. The file stats pane basically shows a summary of the other tabs.

On the left side of the main window, you can add as many DXF files as you want since it's easier to quickly select any file to view its information instead of loading it from the hard drive each time.

When it comes to layers, you can check out the name, color, line type, status (on or off), freezing and locked status, along with the total entities within each layer. As far as blocks go, the utility shows the name and count of each one.

The software application doesn't have an option implemented for previewing the AutoCAD drawing, so you have to resort to another tool if you're interested in this kind of feature. On the other hand, it's possible to export all DXF-related information to a plain text document (.txt) for later examination.

Unsurprisingly, the tool had minimal impact on the computer's performance during our tests. It remained stable throughout our evaluation on Windows 10. It may not have an abundance of options and configuration settings, but DXF Analyzer provides an easy solution for those interested in getting statistics about AutoCAD drawings with the DXF filetype.
