Efficiency is key, especially if one works with transcripts and needs to manually convert audio content to text lines. Voice recognition software is becoming more and more capable and maintaining a fair performance in a very saturated software department such as this is a real challenge. Easy Speech2Text is neither very advanced, nor is it too simple, but aims at providing a no-fuss audio to text and vice-versa conversion tool.

As always, simple solutions turn out to be beneficial from multiple points of view, and this app’s layout deals with that concept flawlessly. Several, large, discernible controls allow users to operate the conversion process.

Providing both audio format to text conversion and text to audio, a simple toggle feature makes the switch between the two modes. Adding MP3 files is straightforward, but there is no drag-and-drop functionality and inputting text can be done freely in the provided section.

The actual conversion process is quite effective and, during our tests we didn’t experience any lags or crashes in operation. One of the neat features that is provided in the program’s settings menu, are four, customizable voices for the text to MP3 conversion.

Named adequately, William, Wendy, Halen and Henry, each can be customized in terms of speed, pitch or volume, thus allowing users a good degree of flexibility.

Easy Speech2Text makes for an excellent choice as an audio to text converter. Offering clutter-free operation and a customizable audio output for the text to audio conversion, it is highly recommended, especially to novice users.

Note: The current version of the program only supports English as the conversion language, a maximum of 5 minutes of audio content and no more than 1000 words.
