However, you can turn to third-party specialized software solutions, such as Encipher It, which can help you secure your content with minimum efforts.

This program features a simple, user-friendly interface that offers you a handful of straightforward, intuitive functions. It can be handled by many users, regardless of their PC skills or previous experience with similar software.

However, the lack of local help documentation can be an inconvenience since some users might encounter certain difficulties while trying to understand or operate some of its controls.

Encipher It lets you protect text content or other document types from your computer by encrypting them using AES 256-bit technology. In order to successfully secure a document, you need to either type the desired text in the main window and attach a file, if needed.

After doing so, clicking the Encipher It button prompts you to type an encryption password. While performing this action, you can view the complexity of your key as well as an estimated time to crack it. You can also toggle PGP compatibility by ticking the dedicated checkbox.

Unfortunately, you cannot choose from multiple encryption modules. Thus, your possibilities are limited to the default algorithm used by this utility.

Aside from offering you encryption functions, this application can also decrypt files in a similar manner. Clicking the Decrypt File button displays a pane where you have to specify the decryption key in order to access the contents of your secured file.

After providing the program with the required information you can easily save the document to your computer in its original, unprotected form.
