Ericsson Phonebook Editor

As its name implies, Ericsson Phonebook Editor enables you to edit the contact list stored on the SIM card or in the memory of your phone. The program supports old mobile phone models, such as Sony Ericsson (T10S, T18S, S868, S868, A1018, R320S, R520M), Siemens (S35, C25) and Nokia (6120, 8210, 8310).

Although is no longer supported by its developer, the application can prove to be a handy tool for those who still own an old phone. It does not require installation, so you don't have to worry about affecting your PC registry.

Designed with simplicity in mind, the interface only comprises a table where you can view the phone number and the name of every contact in your mobile. In order to use it, the first thing you have to do is connect your phone to the PC using a serial port (COM1 to 8), adjust the connection speed and set the flow control the serial port device driver uses.

After all the settings are saved, you can press the 'Activate connection' button and the phone should be automatically detected. The application reads both your SIM card and the phone memory and displays a complete list of all the contacts, enabling you to edit each item or even add new entries to the phone book.

Right-clicking inside the grid opens up a menu where you can copy, move or delete items, but also backup your contact list to a text file. Also, you can update the SIM or phone memory by uploading the modified fields only or overwriting the whole contact list.

Ericsson Phonebook Editor is an application that provides support only for some old mobile phone models, already mentioned above. Thus, users of modern mobile devices should look for something else.
