What is Eudora FOR MAC?

Eudora

Eudora is a cool mail and news application from Qualcomm. It's based on Mozilla's open-source Thunderbird client but isn’t meant to compete with it. Instead, Eudora is here to complement Thunderbird!

Working Together with Thunderbird

Qualcomm is all about keeping the Eudora experience just right for users while also making sure it plays nicely with Thunderbird. The idea is to create one big happy family of developers around both apps, helping them grow even better and faster together.

What’s Special About Eudora?

You see, Eudora isn’t just any version of Thunderbird; it’s a branded one with some extra features added by the Eudora team. Plus, there’s something called “Penelope,” which is an extension—or add-on—that works in both Eudora and Thunderbird.

Installing Eudora and Penelope

The awesome part? When you install Eudora, it comes bundled with Penelope, so you don’t need to install that separately. Most of Penelope’s features can be used in Thunderbird too, but some are exclusive to Eudora—so keep that in mind!

Understanding the Versions

Sometimes people need to tell apart the older versions of Eudora made by Qualcomm from the newer ones based on Thunderbird. To make this clear, older versions may be labeled as “original Eudora” or “Classic Eudora.”
