Event Logger is a free and super easy-to-use tool based on AppleScript. It helps you keep track of when a contact logs in and out of Adium. Pretty neat, right?

How to Set Up Event Logger

Getting started with Event Logger is simple! Just follow these steps:

Edit the Script and change PATH_TO_DESIRED_LOG_FILE_LOCATION. This is where you want your log file to be saved.

Change SUBJECT_NICK. This is just a name for the contact you want to track. You can put anything here!

Assign the script to the log-in event for that contact.

That's it! Every time your selected contact logs in, the script will add a new line in the log.txt file at the spot you picked earlier.

The Log Format

The output will look something like this: "SUBJECT_NICK has logged in at xx:yy:zz aa:bb:cc". It's a straightforward way to see when your contacts are active.
