Description

Exselo Desktop

Exselo Desktop is a cool file-sharing tool that makes it super easy for team members to share documents almost instantly, and guess what? It keeps everything secure! It uses peer-to-peer connections and encrypts all your transfers to keep your files safe.

Indexing Made Easy

As soon as you start using Exselo Desktop, it begins indexing your Documents folder and Outlook store. This means you can quickly search for what you need. If you want to change which folders you're using, just hop into the Settings panel!

Share with Your Team

This same area lets you decide which folders to share with your teammates. Exselo Desktop comes with different groups like colleagues, family, friends, or even blocked users. How neat is that?

Searching for Files

Once the indexing is done, searching for specific files stored on your drive or in shared folders becomes a breeze! You'll see the results organized by user right in the main window.

No Uploading to Third Parties!

You do need to register for an account to use Exselo Desktop, but don't worry—your files aren't uploaded to any third-party servers. Everything happens peer-to-peer, and yes, those transfers are encrypted for extra security.

A Unique Access System

You can only access files shared by other team members through a search; there's no list of all available documents. While searching can be refined quite a bit, finding something without knowing its name might take some time.

Bouncing Ideas Through Chat

If you ever need to exchange information quickly, there's a built-in chat feature! However, keep in mind that linking others directly to a particular file isn't possible yet.

The Concept Behind Exselo Desktop

The unique idea here is that by indexing local folders, you make them searchable and shareable with others. This way, your files show up in remote queries so teammates can access them easily.

Resource-Intensive Indexing

A heads-up though: Exselo Desktop can be pretty resource-heavy when it's indexing or running queries. For example, on a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac with 6GB of RAM, it used up to 90% of CPU power while performing a query!

Navigating the App

Navigating through Exselo Desktop might feel a bit tricky at first; luckily there's built-in Help documentation that could help clear things up!
