File Viewer is an application that you can use to open text documents and view the hexadecimal code of any file, regardless of its type.

It comes packed with several handy options that can be easily tackled, even by those with minimal experience in such tools. It supports up to millions of lines with the DOS and UNIX type, which means that it can handle very large files.

Installing it takes minimal time and effort, since there are no unfamiliar options, mandatory software products, or third-party offers involved.

When it comes to the interface, File Viewer opts for a large window with a standard look and neatly organized structure, where you can use the file browser to open any file and view its hex code.

It's possible to extract lines to a separate file by specifying the first and last line, print information, copy segments to the Clipboard, display line numbers, as well as to resort to a basic search function to track down a particular string of hex code.

You can save search results, go to a specific line, choose between CR and LF, or CR or LF, customize the font color and other settings (e.g. style, type, size, script), as well as integrate the utility into the "SendTo.." submenu of the right-click menu of files in Windows Explorer. Keyboard shortcuts are supported for several commands.

It didn't hog system resources in our tests, thanks to the fact that it needed a low amount of CPU and RAM to work properly. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't hang or crash.

On the other hand, the interface needs improvements to make it more visually appealing. Moreover, File Viewer doesn't have any kind of editing options. Nevertheless, it delivers a simple solution for opening files to view their hexadecimal code, and it can seamlessly handled.
