Description
FixEDID
FixEDID is a super handy and lightweight application for Mac OS X, especially made for those hackintosh setups. This free tool helps you automatically create overrides for Apple Displays, making your life a lot easier.
Easy-to-Use Interface
The best part about FixEDID is its compact and user-friendly interface. You can quickly select the display you want to work with, enter the vendor ID and device ID, and choose your EDID binary file. To grab your EDID.hex file, just use the DarwinDumper utility (make sure it's version 2.7.6 or later).
Emulate Apple Displays
If you're looking to emulate an Apple iMac display, you're in luck! Just pick the display class you want and hit that "Make" button. It’s as simple as that! You'll get the specific Apple Displays generated in no time.
Additional Features
The main window offers two cool extra options. First, you can toggle an option to ignore IODisplayPrefs on your current display if needed. Secondly, there’s a feature that lets you add or fix monitor ranges.
Generated Files
Once you've set everything up and clicked on "Make," several useful files will pop up on your Mac’s drive: you'll get a patched EDID binary, DisplayMergeNub.kext, and the patched displayoverride.
