FlashPoints for AutoCAD and BricsCAD is a simple yet useful, lightweight piece of software designed to help you quickly create and manage point groups for the two hugely popular CAD apps mentioned within its name.

With that in mind, it goes without saying that you need to make sure that AutoCAD or BricsCAD (or both apps) are present on your computer's system.

The first step towards deploying this add-on requires you to undergo a typical and surprise-free wizard installation. Subsequently, the application displays by default a very useful Help file that you should not overlook, since it describes the second part of the installation process.

Quite conveniently, the following procedure is almost identical for both AutoCAD and BricsCAD. This said, launch any of the previously mentioned CAD apps and enter the '_APPLOAD' command in the command prompt. FlashPoints for AutoCAD and BricsCAD makes its presence know via a compact 'Points Number Input Box' and a slightly bulkier main toolbar. Evidently, the former allows you to quickly respond commands with a number or a sequence of numbers and not with coordinates while.

With the help of the toolbar, you can manage point groups, import points from a file, create, edit and save them, change the elevation parameters, modify attribute height, orientation, and framing, and even filter entities.

Taking everything into consideration, while it may not look fairly impressive at first sight, FlashPoints for AutoCAD and BricsCAD is actually a very useful and efficient add-on, especially for users are required to deal with scores of topography projects.
