Description
Fog
Fog is a cool tool for listening to your favorite podcasts right on your Mac. If you love using Overcast to catch up on shows, this app gives you a similar experience without needing a web browser or mobile device. You can also download the iOS app if you're into that.
Features of Fog
With Fog, you get most of the functions from Overcast's web app, plus some extra perks! It comes with keyboard shortcuts that make it super easy to control playback and switch between episodes. So if you're multitasking, you can easily pause or skip ahead without clicking around.
Limitations in Fog
But let’s be real—there are some limitations. Because of how Overcast's official web setup works, Fog doesn't include certain features available in the iOS app like Smart Speed and Voice Boost. You also won’t get notifications or be able to create custom playlists like you can on your phone.
What You Can Do with Fog
No worries though! You can still search for new podcasts, manage subscriptions, and even share episode links with friends. When you're playing an episode, feel free to change the playback speed to listen faster if that’s your thing (just keep an ear out for any funny voice pitches!).
User-Friendly Interface
The interface is super simple and user-friendly. It looks a lot like the Overcast iOS app made by Marco Arment but has a few tweaks from Fog's developer. If your keyboard has media keys, you can start or pause playback and skip forward or backward easily—even when Fog isn’t open in front!
Your Podcast Companion for macOS
All in all, Fog is an awesome utility that acts like a native Overcast client for macOS. It's perfect for keeping up with all your podcasts right from your desktop! If you're interested in checking it out further or downloading it, just click here: Download Fog!
